GHA's What's Good about Good Homes

We will begin with a review of the policy drivers for sustainable homes. Discussion will then commence on a four areas, aspects of sustainable homes. Each will be motivated by reviews of leading edge papers. The topics will be • good quality - build systems, materials, site practices, training, testing/ monitoring, Building Control, warranties • good communities - neighbourhood design, community facilities, ownership & governance, natural environment • good regulations - regulations, Codes, HCA Housing Design Standards • good for users - health & well-being, space standards, daylighting, indoor air quality (IAQ), green space The outcomes of these discussions will be the establishment of technical working groups within the GHA, peopled by willing members. The outputs of these will inform the agenda that we promote.
