Event: Greenwatt Way site visit: SSE (Scottish and Southern Energy)

SEP 13

Greenwatt Way site visit: SSE (Scottish and Southern Energy)
Greenwatt Way, Slough, Berkshire

Built by SSE (Scottish and Southern Energy), Greenwatt Way is home to SSE employees, Slough Borough Council staff and local residents. Over the next two years, SSE’s R&D team will study this highly energy efficient community, to better understand customer's needs as the UK moves to reduce its carbon emissions by 80% by 2050. The project will help them determine the changes in energy generation and consumption that are required for a low carbon society to become a reality.

Features include MVHR, solar PV, grey water recycling and a district heating system. Community facilities include a fruit and vegetable garden and an electric car.

We will hear from SSE's R&D team and the architects, PRP.  There will be chance to view the show home and the energy centre, which powers the whole development.
