ZCH - Carbon Compliance - Have Your Say events upcoming
05 Nov 2010 5:06 pm
The Zero Carbon Hub has announced a series of industry ‘Have Your Say’ consultation events to consider details of the Carbon Compliance element of the definition of zero carbon for new homes.
Following the July announcement by Housing Minister, Grant Shapps, confirming adoption of the Fabric Energy Efficiency Standard (FEES) proposals developed by a Hub-led Task Group, the Zero Carbon Hub has been asked to recommend an appropriate level for Carbon Compliance – the second element of the Government’s policy on zero carbon homes.
This critical work is already underway, steered by a Task Group examining technical, commercial and policy considerations. Its findings and recommendations are due to be presented to the Housing Minister by the end of the year.
The Consultation events have been planned to provide opportunities for the industry to express views, discuss implications of the zero carbon policy and ultimately influence final decisions on where the level of carbon compliance (the level of carbon emissions allowable from a home) should be set. Feedback from the consultation events will inform the final recommendations that are put forward to Government.
