SIG Insulations has launched a new service, SIG360 NewBuild, to help housebuilders build energy efficient homes and meet the challenging requirements of sustainability legislation. Faced with increasingly complex guidelines from the Building Regulations, PassivHaus and Code for Sustainable Homes, the typical option for housebuilders is to pay fees to a sustainability consultant. While they will make product performance recommendations on how to meet the standards required, quite often this is done without visibility of the commercial impact of those decisions. SIG360 NewBuild provides an alternative solution. A newly formed team of technical experts provides a comprehensive value engineering service matching product performance with product costs for the most effective combination. The team will then facilitates the delivery of those products through SIG’s national distribution network. The consultancy aspect of the service is free, with customers only charged the normal costs of the products ordered through SIG.

Beattie Passive Build System is a patented construction method that can be designed to any specification or style using Passivhaus methodology to deliver a complete build system certified by the Passivhaus Institute in Germany; the only company in the UK to achieve this award. A simple and replicable build system that delivers the energy efficiency values of a Passivhaus. The construction forms foundation beams, ground floor, walls and roof all built to form a continuous void. Once in place, flame retardant insulation material is injected into the floor, wall and ceiling cavities, creating one continuous seal. No joints, no leaks. We work from grand designs, housing developments, social, schools and commercial buildings. All can be delivered quickly and at a cost similar to traditional methods but offering huge energy and heat savings, delivering dramatically reduced cost of ownership.
