However, feedback has suggested that there have been a number of poor installations and common problems with different ventilation approaches, so how do we ensure best practice design, installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance, all vital components to the success of the system to deliver good indoor air quality to maximise the health and wellbeing of occupants?

We will present a summary of this work at the event, along with examples of good practice in MVHR and natural ventilation, and experience of different approaches from Europe.

4 April - Taking stock of Planning Reform

The Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA) and Good Homes Alliance (GHA) have joined forces to deliver this timely half-day event. This seminar will be an opportunity to take stock of planning reform and to ask the big questions: what kind of planning will England have in 2012 and what does this mean for delivering high quality, sustainable homes and communities

Following a period of significant reform of both planning and housing policy, the seminar will be an opportunity to gain an understanding of the new planning system, including an update on the Localism Act and the National Planning Policy Framework. It will also provide the opportunity to reflect on the changes and look at a number of emerging themes, including the most effective balance between strategic housing policy and an emphasis on the localism approach; the balance between traditional land use regulation and fiscal incentives; and the degree to which, taken as whole, the reforms provide for a socially progressive framework which will ensure access to high quality sustainable homes and communities.
