Training: Sustainable Building Skills & Knowledge
This ½ day course provides an overview and a map of the knowledge and skills required to reliably deliver low energy sustainable buildings, both existing and new buildings, covering a range of key roles in the construction and built environment sector.
Provides an overview of key skills & knowledge issues and priorities for reliably delivering Low Energy Sustainable Buildings
Clarifies the business implications of having or not having those skills
Enables participants to be clear about their skills needs and skills gaps
Gives participants the confidence to know how to develop these skills and competencies, and successfully secure business in this area.
The course covers trends in the market and regulations, the implications for different types of business in the sector, what training is available, and how to start developing skills plans and company learning plans. It covers both formal training through courses and informal learning through internet resources, exemplar buildings and other means. Participants will also receive support resources to aid implementation of what they have learnt from the course.
The course uses practical tools to assess sustainable building skills needs and develop appropriate skills plans, and covers the following topics:

1 day company assessments can also be carried out, comprising a visit to your company, delivery of the ½ day training, assistance in drafting a company sustainable building skills plan, identification of key sustainable building issues, opportunities and priorities for the company both in relation to skills issues and the business as a whole.
