Network & Programme Manager

Julian has spent over three decades in the construction industry working in the private, public and charitable sectors, he has been actively involved in environmental/construction issues since the mid 90s, has co-authored two publications on sustainable construction, is a qualified BRE EcoHomes/Code Assessor, jointly won a CIOB Innovation & Research Award for his work on daylight/sunlight modelling software, was a CABE (now Design Council) Enabler and runs his own Built Environment Energy/Sustainability Consultancy. Julian was also the 1st Project Manager for the Somerset Trust for Sustainable Development (Ecos Trust) and Chairman of Ecos Homes.

Events & Marketing Associate

Richard provides technical and design support for our events, projects and marketing. He also works in a similar role for our sister organisations; the Passivhaus Trust, the Alliance for Sustainable Building Products and the Sustainable Development Foundation. Alongside this, Richard provides web and graphic design services through his own company, RossoBlu Design. Richard has a BA in Sustainable Design from the University of Nottingham and a Master’s degree in Architectural Technology from Sheffield Hallam University.

Extensive background in events management and membership engagement as Director General of the Outdoor Industries Association and General Secretary of the British Activity Holidays Association. Moved to work at an environmental/sustainability consultancy concentrating on GHG emissions audit and verification, the CRC and EUETS training. My interest in sustainability within the built environment extends to commissioning my own low-energy, well ventilated, sustainably-built house in Wiltshire.
